BACKGROUND TO SCOUTS AND SECONDS

The idea of Scouting was born here in South Africa – from the example of boys like you (or your sons) who wanted to show that they could be trusted, and who were not afraid of a bit of danger. But, of course, there have always been boys like that. It needed a man with the skill to recognise it and the drive to turn them into a youth movement, which spread around the world.

2^nd Boksburg scouting has been going since 1916, and we have the equipment to prove it. We run a very busy calendar, with both work and fun, to produce well rounded fun-filled leaders. Scouting in 2^nd Boksburg is about giving you (or your boys), unforgettable experiences to help them prepare themselves for the topsy-turvy roller coaster of life.
